Default checking codes on OBD1 chipped ECUs

do you check these codes the same way as our stock OBD2 ECUs? This particular ECU is chipped with Hondata but we dont have the software so we cant hook up to it.

I dont know how it's done on OBD2, but for OBD1 you connect a jumper wire between the two terminals of that connector hanging above the ECU panel, and read the CEL.

OBD2 - you can use an OBD2 scan tool or jumper the service plug

OBD1 - you can use a rare scan tool or jumper the service plug.
