Neiter will spike when setup correctly.

The bonus with the AVCR is the ability to have boost based on Gear.... so you can run less boost in lower gears to promote traction. Another nice feature is its ability to display engine data in realtime. Works like a few extra gauges basically.

on an aside... I have one for sale http://www.hondamarketplace.co...ge=10

I can manage pics tonight, its being pulled then. Shipping would extra but just what it costs to ship, I'll heavy paper wrap the original box and ship it that way.

The Blitz sbc electtronic boost controller is another option. It also allows boost variation by gear and a lot of other features. I've been using it for about a year.

I have been running my AVC-R since 2000. I have never had any boost spiking issues because of it. The boost by gear option works great. There are quit a few nice systems on the market and have been covered many times on here.

Here is a write-up I did on setting up the boost by gear.

question..setting up the boost based on gear is done by the tuner or done by yourself?

Done by anyone really. It doesn't have anything to do with the tune.
