Default Boost Controller...Which is better for the cost?

I'm Looking for a boost controller and at first a was going to buy the APEXi Electronics - AVC-R Boost Controller but then a friend told me to get a GReddy profec B spec II. what one is more player friendly and better for the money

(apexi = $447.81)
(greddy = $302.40)

I'm running a BLITZ SSBC with dual presets. It's simple, easy to use, and has worked very well for me. I don't know if they still make them, but it was around $200 when I got it back in like '00-'01. What EMS are you running? If you're running Hondata S300 or any other EMS that supports integrated boost control, your best bet would be to pick up a boost control solenoid and make use of it. You can even set up the boost by gear for improved traction. The AVC-R also has a speed-based boost control function, but it's pretty pricey.

Ive used the Greddy unit, works and is fairly easy- has small buttons. I'm runnning and Turbosmart unit, works very well (boost control) and has some very nice features you can actually use (like different settings, day/night light, etc.) I forget how much it costs though...

The boost solenoid has held up very well... it's better IMO than the Greddy unit with the filters.

You know we have it easy when you can buy an EMS that comes with boost control for less than a standalone EBC. Some of them do allow a high/low setting too via a potentiometer input IIRC. Anyways I've heard the Greddy unit has a good balance between programability and funtionality, and is cheaper too.

We're only 2 hours away if you're interested.

you can run an electronic solenoid on neptune, neptune rtp, or hondata s300.
