Default launching at the track?

when you guys go to the track how do you launch? do you feather thhe clutch out right when it starts to grip then release from there or just drop it. when i was at the track last night i was just dumping the clutch and i spun like a bitch at the line a couple times so now im thinking i prolly screwed myself out of better times. tia

In my GSR, what I've found is that 4800 rpm or so... dump the clutch... if you're still spinning at the top of 1st, back off a bit, until you hook up. Don't spin into 2nd, or you'll bog... the key is to have traction by the top of 1st.

That's just been my experience, and I'm still learning this too.
