I've got a totaled '94 EX with a Z6 and a good '98 LX with Y7. I want to put the Z6 VTEC head and intake manifold on the Y7. What parts do I need to change over?
you will need a headgasket...and some mechanical skills to put everything back together...make sure to take out the oil jet in the y7 block..its on the top intake side of the block
oh...i thought you were just gonna put the engine together...umm youre only worry is going to be the way the distributor from the y7 mounts on to the z6 head...as for the ecu you are going to have to run the 98+ y8 ecu or convert it...but with your stock lx tranny your gears are gonna be longer than a stock ex...put the tranny off the z6 into your car also...or just sell what you have and get a y8 swap so that everything is less of a hassle for you...do it right the first time so you dont have to go back and change things around
if you sell some things heres what you might get for them:
z6 engine- 200-400
z6 tranny- 200-400
p28 ecu- 75-100
misc things- 50-100
a y8 goes for about 500 complete so you should be good if you sell the things
