Ok first the car is a 93 DX with a B18B. Here is the problem. When I am on the interstate or at cruising speed with the gas at a quarter to half throttle the car keeps making a weird jerking feeling. If I give it more gas the jerking goes away. Also it seems to do it worse when I am running the heat for some odd reason. Last thing I do get a check engine light time to time but haven't gotten a chance to scan it yet. Also one more thing it did fail the the NO part of the 50/15 emissions test, the numbers were 1434 of an allowed 1242.

 

Dang no suggestions? I was thinking maybe the cat is going bad.

 

TPS = the cause. (Throttle Position Sensor)

Mine is doing the same thing but I'm too lazy to change it. You'll notice it's at different RPM's but always at the same spot when you press on the gas. It's usually under a light load too.

 

Yeah if I am cruising on the interstate at like 70 it will do it. The car idles fine though except when i first crank it up sometimes it will fluctuate, sometimes will idele low and rough, and sometimes it will idle high.

 

Also is it possible the TPS could make me fail the NO part of my emissions test?

 

No other ideas?
