Rear engine, Rear wheel drive VR6 Turbo Golf. I'm not sure if its a street car or not but I know I watched him in person running low 11's at 130+mph on street tires. I guess his best is 11.01 @137mph at Napierville dragway in Quebec.
Check out BenCustomFabric.com for more info. btw i'm in no way involved with this guy, I just though you guys would appreciate it.

i dont quite get the functional point of 2 intercoolers but i do understand the asthetics.
but the way they are mounted they wont cool the charge air at all....
also, get a dumptube made

Yeah, I think those pictures were when the car wasn't completely finished. When I saw it this summer it had a wastegate dump tube plumbed into the exhaust. ANd yeah, low 11's on street tires trapping 137, 10 second mph..I GUESS thats pretty lame.
Holy pessimist batman.

seems to me that one I/C,placed directly against the side window would make far better use of the air coming in through the vents.would also reduce charge pipe volume.maybe even a fan or two on the backside of the I/C.

or some ducting to route the air in and then ducting back out the rear and you wouldnt need any fans.

Well, to tell you the truth I would have mounted it basically underneath the car, like a normal FMIC, with enough stick out the bottom to work, or the I/C sitting flat with ducting running underneath it to cool it. But I guess it works ok if he's running almost 11 flat.

not trying to argue with you but theres a big difference between the high pressure area in the front bumper and an intercooler hanging underneath the car.
i do have a biased opinion as i am a huge aerodynaimcs nerd, and as such i could never bring myself to stick something under the car and in the flow of the underbody air.
i would be willing to bet that the ducting/ window setup will be considerably more efficient

Well, i'm no engineer, So i'm not gonna' argue with you. Maybe a sti style scoop on the roof, and the intercooler right underneath..lol..
The car is neat. The work looks good.
It's fast because it's re/rwd.
It's all good, somebodies pride and joy!!!

If you look closely, both I/C have fans.
