Default Stock oil pump, oil cooler lines and a turbo

Hey!

Did some searching and didn't come up with much. My friend and I where talking the other day and he brought up a ponit I didn't even think about for my turbo build and maybe I can get some feedback about this... Will the stock honda oil hold up? I've added a 19 row oil cooler with relocate filter kit as well as a TD04H turbo. How much extra oomph are the honda oil pumps good for and should I be worried about oil starvation? Will I need to worry for this extra load that I'm putting on the stock oil pump? I also have a moroso type oil pan.

Thanks!

Default Re: Stock oil pump, oil cooler lines and a turbo (psycheus)

what year is your car? if you have a turbo you sould have a oil pressure gage!!!
...my 95 D15B7 (1.5L non vtak) had great oil press..at idle it would sit around 25psi, and on the highway it would sit at around 70psi..

....i blew that engine up after bettin it for about a year, i swaped in a D16Y7 (1.6L non vtak) that i had layin around, that engine came out of a 96 to 98 civic....the oil pressure sucks on it, at idle i'm around 15psi, and on the highway a woppin 25psi... i make sure i don't even go into boost in fear that i'll blow this engine up before i shim the oil pump...

...i would also say to run a thicker oil (i've been runnin royal purple 10w40) even thow you have a oil cooler, your turbo pumps out a lot of heat and thins that **** out....
