idle surging, iacv and fitv hole in tb question
well i just changed my fuel filter today and about midway to the day my idle started jumping at 1k to 1.2-1.3k when the car is warmed up. Idle isn't jumping when it's cold, i took off my intake and plugged the bottom hole and felt suction, but it was little suction. When I covered the top hole, the car felt like it was about to die until i released it then idle went up and jumped again. Oh yeah, I bled the coolant and bubbles came out but the same thing.
What does this indicate? I don't think the bottom hole should be sucking at hole when it's warmed up right?

the bottom hole for the fitv (fast idle throttle valve) should not be sucking when the car is warm. it only increaces idle when car is cold to warm it up. there is a write up on cleaning it in the archives. it heips out.

If its still idling like that and you cleaned the IACV then next to do is look at the throttle body gasket and then finally the intake manifold gasket.

yes. the top hole is for the tps. the bottom hole as mention is for the fitv. mine is bad for some reason and a new one isn't worth it as it's not even important. mine would suck air when warmed up which = bad. i took it apart, cleaned it , messed with the screw and nothing worked. i finally blocked it off and pluged the coolant line.

The top hole IS not for hte TPS. Why would the TPS need vacuum? The top hole is for the IACV.
