Default which ecu would be best .

i did a search on the forum n got two results that barely helpd ..
my baby's H22a is running like trash... i bought the kar with it in already . so now im just fixing her up ... i ******* luv that kar more than ppl think (and if u see the **** im doing ud say im dumb . lol) . but anyway .. back on topik. the h22 is throwing four kodes on the engine check lite. bogs down when i acelerate too hard, the rpm needle looks like a rictor skale in japan, and the revs start bouncing at 6,500rpms ... makes no sence . i already changed the spark plugs, fuel filter distributor kap and rotor .. kables.. and ignition, now alls left to do is the ecu and a new timing adjustment.. but heres the dilema for me.. im a straight up newb . so i wanna kno which ecu is best.. all i see in ebay is these chippd jdm ecu's with rev limiters at 9,600rpms .. which i think is WAY too damn much . miss a power shift n u mite be done. i saw a spoon ecu for sale on ebay n i wanna kno if itd be a good idea to get it .. also, i wanna be sure wut my baby is, obd1 or obd2 ... (shes a 94 accord)

sorry for the long post ..

Maybe check the IACV or the other valve that on the throttle body. I had the same problem with surging idle and it was the valve that is underneath the throttle body. There's a threaded screw in there that was loose, we tightened it and it was fine again. I also had problems with mt car bogging when I stepped on the gas. That was my cap and rotor, but since you have already changed that and it is still happening then yes it could be your ECU. There are several ECU's that would work if you have a tuner. I have a chipped P06. Then there's the obvious P13, and then there's a the P28 and I believe P72

and so the learning begins =D ... i just bought an ecu on ebay.. its an obd1 jun p13 .. hmm . im hoping itll work ...
about the h22 . the previouse owner was a straight dum**** that didnt even kno wat engine it was. he just told me . "oh look , the engines one of those "vtec" ones." n i kno he just didnt kno bekause he was an old roommates kousin..he sold me the kar for 1,000$ bekause he said it was giving him too much trouble and that the motor was blown.. (i ran in it and to me it just sounded like a bent valve.) so i bought it, and surely it was a bent valve ... after that the engine was running fine. BUT till taday ive never heard or felt it krack vtec. reason why im getting an ecu .. i kno the original owner was spraying.kause theres a lil switch by the steering wheele ..and a lil red button by my radio.
but that doesnt really matter
i plan on fully building her for boost. and i mean FULLY ..\
should take me about 4 months. maybe less ..
but for now i wanna get her running right ..

Geez... my eyes hurt after reading all that funky spelling.

You said the CEL is on and that you have 4 codes. What are they? Have you fixed the reason why those codes are triggered? Why get a different ECU when you haven't fixed the cause of the codes? The codes are probably telling you exactly why the car runs the way it does. A new ECU will not help.

You have a CEL with 4 codes stored. Stop whatever you plan to do, find out what they are, and then fix whatever is causing them.

My car is doing the same thing! I have 91 crx with d16z6 sohc vtec swap and when i use a p28ecu it starts to rev up and down like crazy. It will also bog down when i try to accelerate rapidly. As of right now i'm using a p75 ecu(which is from an integra LS dohc)It runs fine with that, but with no vtec. I have skunk2 intake manifold, shortram intake, header, full 2.5 exhuast. I wonder if i'm not getting enough fuel? Should i use a doch vtec ecu to compensate?(p72)
