Default H22a Gurus. help, 10k redline 15-20psi healthy?

so i have an h22a accord.
umm durr the name lol
but i want to do something dramatic.
meaning engine wise.
i really want to build the head and rev it to 10k.
type 3 everything from DH.
but i really want to boost.
But i am not to sure if its health to rev 10k with turbo.
i am planning to sleve and run 9comp pistons.
aem fuel management
and also aem ecu
so yeah.
my question is, is it safe to run 10k rpm while boostin 15-20psi.
if not then im not going get the dh head. blah.
thanks for the help h22a guru;s

As far as I understand. Hondas don't rev to 10K (only 9K max) because the oil gets whipped up into a froth with the crank beating through it that fast, (called cavitation). The oil loses it's ability to lubricate the engine, and BLAMO!

Don't ask my how F1 cars can go to 20K, they must deliver the oil differently.

they use a dry sump oiling system.

to the OP, setting a goal of a 10k redline isn't really a good goal. Your better off setting a goal of xxxHP or xx Sec in the 1/4.

at any rate, it doesn't make any sense to spin the expletive outta a boosted motor. your turbo has a rpm range where it has peak efficiency. larger your motors RPM range, the longer you'll be out of the turbos sweet spot.

jweller is correct, boost generally falls off around 6K-7K and after that its better to shift than ride out a falling turbo. the biggest factor to this is turbo size, or to be more extensive, compressor and exhaust housing size.

ooo nice. ok thanks guys. well we have some h2's here that unning to 10k wih a full built head from dh. but yeah. i see about th turbo spooling though. so even though the motor's redline is at 7.5k we should shift at 7?

you should shift/rev based on your power band. if you're not making any power beyond 7500 why rev any higher?

Theres really no reason why you'd want to rev to 10k if it's not the peaking point of your engine, which I doubt it is.

And yes Hondas can rev to 10k rpm, even higher. I've read in modified about an s2000 that revs to 11,250rpm with the F20.

yeah i've reved the h22 to 8K....BUT 10k on boost....likely to blow a few pistons through the roof of your car, power band would be strange, but its your funeral.
