Required tune ups for the 5th gens?
Me and my friend just replaced the spark plugs (Denso Standards) and changed the oil as well (I think it was GTS Syntec SW50). Do you guys think I saved lots of money rather than having the oil change in the shop? What else do I need to tune up for regular maintanence?
the owners manual has the main't schedule in it.
without knowing the miles on the car a person can only guess what else needs to be checked.
BTW I went to the Honda interactive network to try to view the main't schedules, but there are no listings by "GEN" only Model and Year.

oil filters are only about $3, not much at all.
and at 70k, theres not much u need to do, may want to change out your distributor cap and rotor, but not necessary, couldnt hurt though.

might want to check your air filter if you havnt changed it in awhile. Helps out with gas milage a little bit. You might want to check your fluids too just in case. Brake, tranny, radiator, power steering, and washer fluid.
hope that helps

you can pick up a genuine honda one from the dealer for about $6-7. fram is crap, but you can pick a fram up for about..uhh...i havent bought a fram in a long time, but im guessing they are about $5?

yeah, i notice my mpg dropping a little bit. its too late to change the oil filter now, but ill do it again for the next tune up. thanks guys
when you change your ATF use only genuine honda ATF! i was told to us eonly honda ATF but i thought "what the hell, valvoline will do!" and after i put valvoline in my tranny started shifting hella rough. so i got fed up and changed it to OEM honda about a year later and the diference is night and day. i havent done anything to ym car that made me feel such a diference before. my tranny still doesnt shift as smooth as it useto anymore but its alot better then before with the valvoline.
