the difference between s80 & y80 tranny?...
was wondering whats the difference between the 2 tranny?..i know they both come out of a ls & gsr...but is there any difference or one is better than the other one?...

no...its just the casing number...s80 can be an ls, gsr, b16 , or a type r transmission...Dont go by that...In fact my b16 transmission says s80 I believe...but so did my GSR transmission

so theres no diffence in between the 2 then just the caseing #?.. 
by the b series tranny chart the only thing that looks different is the 3rd,4th,& final drive..

there is a significant difference between a b16 an ls and a gsr transmission (Hydro)...but you cannot identify them by solely the casing numbers...
