axle question
well if you just need to remove them from the trans just unbolt the LCA from the frame..unbolt the sway bar and radius rods from the LCA and then you should be able to have enough movement to pull them out of the trans...
Lets see if I explain this trick I learned a few years ago. Assuming you have all the nuts and bolts loose already, first put a jack under the lower control arm and jack it up until you have taken all the travel out of the suspension. Take a piece of steel or wood, I use a 1/2" drive breaker bar and slide it in the slot between the hub and the lower control arm outboard of the ball joint. It needs to be a snug fit. Then just release the jack quickly, lowering the control arm, and the ball joint should pop loose. if not take a rubber mattel and hit a few times or jack it up and release a few times. Works everytime for me!
Oh I just remebred a trick for poping the lower ball joint...last time we just put the jack unter the ball joint with the nut off and jacked it up and the joint popped, be carefull not to mushroom the end or mess up the threads...my jack had a pad on it so it was cool if yours dosen't just leave the nut on the end so the it fits flush with the end of the threads

both axles need to be taken out, either take it off on the tranny side or take it off on the wheel side, much easier just to take it off both so you have room to work.
Yea you need to remove both axles from the trans but you don't have to remove them from the hubs, I don't take them all the way out unless I need to you can usually get some string and tie them up out of the way...
go to kragens, checkers, shucks whatever it is called in your area and rent the front end kit. it has different types of ball joint seperators. there is one in there that fits perfectly. and then return it and the money gets fully returned into your bank account. dont risk destroying a ball joint. i tried the other methods and i prefer to use the seperator.
Eh thats the proper way to do it, not the honda way
Start pulling things out of the junkyard where you don't have the proper tools or any power/air tools and you'll learn all the trick
