D16A6 Head onto a D15B7 Block but with Pistons and Crank from the D16
Hey. Me and some friends are working on this 89 Crx Si in my high school autoshop class. Just had a question about what to do about our engine. We have the original D16A6 engine which is pretty much perfect, but has a burnt cylinder. My teacher told us we'd need to get it bored if we were to use it. There happened to be a D15B7 block laying around that looked good but had just been overheated once, so the cranks and such were black, but the cylinders were in good shape.
So my question is can we use the crank and all the bottom end stuff from the D16 in the D15 block? Ive done some research but want to make sure itll work before I start working on it. Ive checked it out and it should have a 9.6:1 CR. Any idea how much power thatd make versus the 9.1:1 CR in the stock D16A6?
Thanks for any help.

Nope wont work main bearings are different sizes. Just use the a6 block the bump in compression would get you like 2hp anyhow.
