Its me again , I was driving along the other day and my srs light came on what does this mean what should i check and how do I reset the light. How do you retrieve codes for when the check engine light or srs lights come on do you have to have to take to dealer to get code. Thanks.

 

SRS - Supplemental Restraint System i.e. air bags, check the fuses might just be a blown fuse

 

Checked fuses its fine not blown what else could it be and again how do you retrieve codes.

 

there is no code for the SRS light, check all the connections and the main relay

 

What year is your car? The newer Accords with the side air bags, if you leave something on your seat, it can make the light come on.

 

my SRS light came when i took out my cluster to put in white face gauges and it stayed on until i took it to the dealer and they said that is what did it but they said that it also happens it there is something in the seat that is not heavy enough (such as a small child, they do that on purpose) they also said that the sensors can get something on them and cause the light to come on

 

I don't know, mine has been on for a while now.

There was a huge thread dedicated to this on hondasociety, it's some problem w/ the computer, have to get it fixed at the dealership, unless it's covered under the warranty, I think some said it ranged from $30 to $90 just to take a little thing to it and reset it or something. Gay.

I just know it's a common problem, especially for the 5th Gens.

 

Try to Reset ur ECU

Unhook the Neg (-) Battery wire for 10-15 mins then
then start up ur car and leave it idle for another 10-15 mins DO NOT TURN OR RADIO or STEP ON the gas just leave it alone.
Remember if you have 98-02 accord before you do this make sure you have your Radio CODE.
