Default A whole trimester in Auto...what to do to my stock 96 EX?

1996 Honda Civic Ex
-Automatic
-Power windows, locks
-78,000 Miles

First off id like to let everyone know a few things about me:
1. Im not rich, i have a solid $200 in the bank every month!
2. I know next to nothing about cars, but im sure most of my classmates do.
3. I drive around 500 miles a week, so gas mileage is HUGE!

With that being said, i'd now like to share some pictures i snapped real quick, to show everyone what im working with.

Im already looking to take off the sideskirts and paint them white, to match the rest of the car. I could also rotate my tires, change oil, wash it, mostly the basics. Just wondered if anyone has suggestions or anything really? Thanks in advance!

leave it stock... do the maitnance, but leave it till you got $2000 to blow, not $200...

then you can turbo it, and get your moneys worth...

Since your at almost 80k, I'd do a timing belt, water pump, valve adjustment, tranny flush, and coolant flush.

Thats about it. Leave it stock and enjoy the comfort and reliablilty.

I would look at the color of the coolant and test it for it's freeze point before wasting the time and money to change it. My car has 135k on the clock and since I've had it (5+years and almost 100k miles) I've never changed the coolant because it is still green as hell and it has a freeze point of about -45F!

If he's putting 500 miles on a day an automatic is fine.

If he's not trying to race with it everything'll be good.

See, regardless of what pple tell you about gas mileage, you will ALWAYS get better gas mileage with an automatic than a standard, b/c it's near impossible to shift at what an automatic has the ability to shift at...nobody can, everybody winds it out more...

For gas milleage - I say go w/ an automatic...

Don't beat on it though - it WILL fail if you do.
