Axel boot changed. now car won't go into gear
My car is a 1994 Accord ex.
recently i got my left axle boot changed b/c it was pretty bad. and the right was changed like 2 years ago..
i got my buddy's dad to do it because hes the auto mechanic and he knows what hes doing.
when i was driving it, it would start to rumble when i hit the gas. and the rumbling felt like it was coming from the axles up fron
on top of that. it was hard to shift my car because it seemed like it didn't want to go into a gear.. well. i just started my car and now it doesn't want to go into a gear at all..
the reason why i cant just go back to my buddies dad btw. is because im at school which is 3 hours away from him. so yea..
please help

Why did you change the axel boot in the first place? was it worn out and leaky?
I wouldn't think that would cause a big problem in shifting. He may not have reassembled the rod right but again I don't know how that would cause poor shifting.
Wait for HondaDudes more professional reply.
You don't have any clicking when you turn do you?
Yea the axle boot was work and leaky. It doesn't really click as much as there is rumbling.
edit: it'll go into gear when the car is off. if that means anything

Rumble when you excellerate sound like a bent axle. Where did you get the axle? Is it new or remanufatured? I bought a remanufactured axle from NAPA and it was bent.
My car is a 5 speed. I cannot move my stick into any gears, it stays in neutral.. its like i have to force it into a gear some how but i dont want to pull or push too hard..
this sucks so bad. my life has gone to complete ***** these past couple of days

Check the clutch fluid in the reservoir beside the brake master. Fill it with brake fluid. Check under the dash where the clutch pushrod meets the firewall, look for leakage.
You might need to bleed the clutch system
