Spitting Oil -pls give it a read
So my motor was just built and tuned.
I have had it home for about a week now and it runs MINT.
Idle is great, power is smooth and awesome, and as far as I have checked the oil is dead on and no leaks.
Since it got colder I have found it harder to start it up. It fires up great everytime but its a very rough idle, so I usually just hold it at a low rev for a few seconds to warm her up and then slowly let it out and then it idles perfectly. I believe this is normal, thats not what I'm asking today.
My question is I backed it up close to my garage last night and when I started it today and gave it 2 or 3 small revs, I let it warm up and went to the back of the car and noticed that my garage looked like my muffler air brushed a light clud of oil directly behind it on the garage door.
Is this normal???
Now I have this feeling this could be from when my motor was first built, it was burning oil hard. and it covered the inside of my exhaust, cat and header. It was bad. So I think this might be that the inside of the cat was burned out from the residue oil once it burned off so basically I'm left with a hallow cat. Could this be the case?

What color is it?
and from what I understand with winter and our cars, you shouldn't rev the car while it just started up as you need the oil to run through the whole system and heat lubricate all the components. Just a FYI

That makes sense I'll remember that! But if I dont atleast give it a bit of gas it sounds like its gonna choke and stall.
Its pure black in colour. Very thick, doesnt hit the garage door and run down it, it hits and sticks where it is.

sounds like carbon and or fuel
when the car starts up cold it runs rich just for safety until the ecu gets all the proper readings.
oil is not black in color but blue when it burns
too much fuel is usually black or greyish
who tuned ur car ? teknotik ?

Yea I know the colour difference in smoke, but this isnt smoke.
its like taking a mouthfull of oil or carbon and spitting it out a straw.
Dave (Defcon) and his link did the tune ( I cant remember his name or the name of the shop, but its at lawrence and keele)

It's normal. My car does the same thing mostly because stainless steel cat-back exhaust systems when they cool condense a lot of moisture inside. It mixes with the carbon buildup in the exhaust when started and blows out the back of the pipe when you rev it. In the fall or early spring when temperatures are cool I actually have problems with it blowing back on my bumper and making a mess. If your car runs rich at all and from the sounds of it it does on startup, that will just increase the amount of carbon in the exhaust.
