Default Help with speedometer! it's acting up...

Mmmk let's see. Around 1 out of 10 times when I start up my '94 integra GSR and drive, the speedometer doesn't work. However, at speeds of 50+ mph, the speedometer ALWAYS bounces up and down very rapidly from down past 140 mph all the way back up to 50-60 mph. Loose connection maybe? Help/advice needed please, thanks.

Do u have the cel for the vss? If not, sounds like the bouncing could be caused by a loose connection, or a bad ground, so check the connector to the sensor and check all ur grounds, especially the thermostat ground.

try disconnecting the vss wire. spray it out with some contact cleaner and reinstalling with a little bit if dielectric grease.
