ok my speed sensor went out. replaced it and it still dont work. it has 12 volts going to it. but the signal wire is reading 9.27 volts. as far as i know it is supposed to be around 5 volts. also it doesnt pulse between 0-5 at all when i spin the wheel. anyone know what the problem could be? any help or anything i could check. also it is a 94 gsr and the check engine light comes on for the vss.

 

ok i checked the signal wire again but this time i took the speedometer out and the volts dropped to 4.88 but the sensor still doesnt pulse from 0-5-0-5-0. any thoughts?

 

you ahve a short to power somewhere. your speed sensor should read 0 volts when theres no movement. as you move the wheel the sensor should pick up movement and increase voltage.
