Has anyone turbo'd their 'v' with the stock engine, so without doing the vtec conversion? i amthinking about doing it but with a very low boost turbo system, 4-5psi, the t3/t4 turbotronics v-band turbo kit for honda b20 engines. I know that i have the 2000 'v' with the b20z engine, with very weak or thin walls, but i do believe that with low boost and good tuning it will go great... what do you guys think?...

There is a 97-01 body crv not sure of the exact year but it races @ MIR often its turbo I have personally seen this thing run 13.30's with 2 car seats in it kick *** sleeper

Uh its real time AWD, which means it only goes into AWD when the front wheels start to slip, even then the diff has a safety mode which disengages it if the discs over heat.

And its not too hard to disengage the diff and let it hang loose, or spin freely, so total power to the front weels, and a gain of around 25hp, but now you need to invest in new front tyres every few months...
Hi there sepetinswenze
I've got a CR-V as well and i was thinking of the same thing
how's the score so far let me know maybe we can save costs in producing
our own parts and research.
Let me know ....
Mine is the first generation CR-V
(my other car is a 5th gen prelude)
greetings Edje

Inline Performance of Springfield, Va has a turbo CR-V silver if I recall correctly and they like to go to MIR so that's the one some may have seen. They did it just for fun.
I can back B16power on that one. InlinePro has a mild set up and I have to say its pretty impressive seeing a stock crv run low 13s. Check out their site, they may have something about it.
there was a magizine feature with a crv tubo and it was auto also
i almost did it my self drag has a crv kit but im holding off till i can do my head swap all i need to finish it is to find out how to control the tranny with a vtec ecu or figure out how to control the vtec with my stock ecu i already have the head ready to install

i do believe that a turbo will work for it though
but as with all thing its all good in moderation
but i think as far as limits go i dont think the crv has been taken there enough times to know them for sure like say a civic or an integra there are limits as to where the block will grenade at xxxhp and the tranny will buy the farm at xxxhp and people know them
the crv just isnt there yet i dont think people push them that hard
but that should stop you from trying it though because like i like to say there only one way to find out if it will work
and then if it blows up its not like the block would be hard to replace its a b series and as such pretty much interchangeable with all other b motors i saw one on this site a while back with a turbo gsr motor in it
let us know how it works
and if you know anyone how can help me with my ecu/auto tranny problem please let me know

Hi, EDJE
Mine's also the first genoration, but i dont have the low compression ratio B20, i have the shaved version, the B20z2 engine, it came with my 2000 CR-V sport. I think that the VTEC conversion is going to be the only way for me, maybe for you too... well il let you know how im going once i find a good VTEC head, but for now i have the whole exhaust settup, and the new high flow intake manifold and exhaust mani... just waiting for that hot top and the t3/t4 turbo kit...
Speak again soon,
Sepetinswenze
