Default Key stuck in ignition

My girlfriend has a 2000 honda passport and she just gave me a call saying her key was stuck in the ingnition. You can turn the car on and start it but when trying to pull it back it wont. Its just stock in the locked position and wont turn to the off position. Any one know what the problem is or how we can get it out?

either the ignition switch has taken a dump or something in the interlock system has gone bad.
You should take it to an Isuzu dealer to get it fixed

If you unplug the negative cable on the battery will the key come out?

Try it and let me know.

yea thankfully they arent doing that anymore.
Honda wasn't sure the SUV thing would take off so rather than building an SUV they traded, then as soon as they realized it was here to stay they started with the cr-v then built the pilot

Not too sure about the key thing. My civic did it to me one morning before school and scared the crap out of me. I messed with it for 5 minutes and it finally came out, and it never did it since. I then got new keys re-cut from Honda and it made a world of a difference in how the ignition and doors worked.
