ive made 5 differnt copys for my 1997 type-sh and all the copys open the doors/trunk fine, and go in the ignition and turn on all the electrical fine but doesnt turn all the way to start up the car. do 5th gens have a special security system for the keys? or is it just a coincidence all 5 copys from differnt places are bad? thanks

 

you have an immobilizer I believe. its got a chip built into your stock key. and the copies will not start your car.

 

damn so theres no possible way to make a copy? if i lose it im fucked!

 

I think Honda can make you a copy but its like 35-50 bux i think. Correct me if I am wrong.

 

Yes honda can make them, I am not sure of the cost though.

if you can find an immobilser key on flebay you can program the blank key whilst it is in the ignition, use your red key.

 

you have to go to the stealership and have them make a key for you. Just take your original key there, and they should have a copy made in like 10min.
