also when i use the signals the temp needle bouces up in the hot range, but only when the check engine light is on
idk what to do!!

drove the car to work today, on the way home (a few blocks from home actualy) the needle went red hot, my heater was blowing ice cold air, and when i went to check everything out (no clue what to exactly look for) i found nothing.... only thing i thought was outa wack is that the lower radiator hose was ice cold (like no fluid was goin through it?)
help! this is my daily driver

There is no code 5, code 6 is the coolant temp sensor so I'll assume its that.
The lower hose should be cooler than the top hose but not very cold, was the top hose hot? If not then start with your thermostat. You can just remove it, take it for a good spin and see if you have an overheating issue and also check your hoses for temp. Then you just replace the thermostat. Did the heater work before the swap? If so has it worked since the swap or has it just recently gone out?

opps 6* thats what i meant.
yes the heater has always worked PERFECTLY, on my way home last night when my car decided to start geing gay it stopped working.
the ower radiator hose is ice cold after taking it around the block. the upper radiator hose is normal (nice and warm)
so you think my therostat is stuck? just replace it?
or what should i do
