I'm looking at a 2000 GSR that has been untuned. I plan on doing a compression and leakdown test. What else should i look for?

Does it have aftermarket rods or stock rods with CP pistons?

How long has he been driving it untuned ? I would worry about how rich its running, usually untuned cars run rich, and if its running like this for a long period of time you will have issues with the piston rings and the cylinder walls being washed down with fuel and not getting the proper lubrication.

so wait your saying he should swap out his already untuned vafc for a fmu with no tuning abilities whatsoever? Dumbass

Compression and Leakdown to make sure it's not already fucked...If it burns oil...don't buy it. Then as soon as you get it...shitcan all the piggybacks and get it tuned right.
sounds like you want to buy this car, is that right?
But before you buy it you want to know what you should look for in order to make sure that the car is in perfect working order. Well at least motor wise. Is that right?

FITTI- Thats correct, I'm unsure what to look for in a turboed car. I plan on buying it if all goes well. My old boss still has his hondata stuff. Would that be compatible with this car?
if i was you i would do my homework and be prepared! beucase jumping into something you are uncertain about, be it mechanical wise.
turbo motors that are untune are something to look out for. like other poster said running rich for long periods of time isnt good on the motor. can wash out the cylinder walls
but not only that. you need a good form of tuning for the car to get it running well and stable.
IMO have him tell you the maintaining he has done on the car. make a list of the maintaining you tihnk the car has. then start checking off the things he has done and things you think should have been done...
and the remaining things NEED TO BE DONE. asume he has never maintained it, and do what you feel is truly needed

^ Thanks for the info
, I've been doin some research for the last 2 weeks (1st found the car)and learning more and more each day.Now after doin some research, i wanted to know the opinions and info that people with a turboed car might know.

then get rid of the afc and get the car tuned. you can drive it, i Definately wouldnt hit boost with the afc. what else is done in the motor? does it have an aftermarket clutch? you'll need one
