Default Oil Filters?

Is there any type of "experation" on oil filters? How long can they sit for or does it not matter at all?

Also is there any difference between OEM Honda oil filters than the regular brands like Fram, napa...etc.

well its possible that if the ADBV (anti-drain back valve) is made of rubber that it could dry out. But filters made with a silicone adbv don't have as much of a problem in this regard. I'm not sure if the honda filters are made with a silicone or nitrile adbv, I use wix/napa gold which use silicone.

the media, consistency of pleats, metal end cap construction, the placement of the by-pass valve, adbv material, sealing gasket material all are better than your avg fram/honda filter. I unsertand the S2000/toyo roki filters are about the best built filters honda offers. Fram uses carboard encaps, a weak bypass spring (not really even a spring, its more of a button style bypass) inconsistent media pleats, and regular nitrile rubber adbv. I've seen cut filters of toyo roki, fram, napa, purolator, and out of all of them I prefer napa/wix construction, then purolator, then toyo roki. I avoid fram/honeywell by all means. I dont know about the filtech filters if those were frams or not, i think only the ones labled honeywell were.

There's no difference between Fram and OEM. OEM USA filters are made by Honeywell. Toyo Roki makes the JDM filters.

fram straight up sucks my class and i opened up the fram and napa filters and there was a big difference between them not sayin napa is the best or anything but if your looking for a quality filter go for something other than fram.

Maybe if you didn't mean what you posted, then you shouldn't have posted it?

You didn't say "OEM filters are better than any aftermarket filters." You said "parts."

Either of those statements would be completely wrong and ignorant.

Your "opinion" is wrong.
