Swap Question, JDM B16a into EK Coupe. Motor in, Acting crappy! HONDA GURUS HELP!!!!
Alright, I assume there are several people who will come into this thread thinking "Ok great, another Noob swap question". I honestly can't blame them. While I haven't really put much input on this board, or been a member for very long, I have always used this page as a refrence point for Honda info. I know the whole "search button is very helpful" and blah blah blah. Believe me when I say i've done some homework on this and have a pretty good idea of what the problem is, I just want to get some opinions before I go any further with this.
Car: 1996 Civic EX coupe
Motor: JDM B16a SiR-II
Problem:
I swapped in a B16a SiR-II motor that I got from HMotorsonline. Its all in and wired up and runs great. That is, after it has warmed up. My problem is this: Assuming the motor is cold, like when it sits overnight, upon start up it turns over, fires up and then stalls out. It does this for anywhere between 2 minutes to up to 15 minutes, depending on how cold it is. I go to start the car up, it turns on, revs up to 1800 rpms then stalls out. I go through this process for severl minutes, continusly turning it on, letting it stall out, and then starting over. After the motor has warmed up a bit, it will turn on and stay of for a bit longer, but occasionly still stall out until it warms up enough to stay on. At this point it will idle very low(between 400 - 700 rpms) with occasional rev up to 1500. after awhile it settles out to the correct 800 rpms. If any gas is applied at this point the RPMs dip down to the 400 - 500 range and it will cough and backfire until you remove you foot from the gas pedal. I have held the pedal down for up to 10 seconds with the rpms failing to rise at all. Upon removing your foot from the gas it revs up to 1600 or so then settles back down to 800. This only takes place below 3,000 RPMs. if the car manages to get above that it will rev and drive normaly. This continues until it has warmed up(and by that I mean the temp gauge actually shows movement.) At this point it will start to act normal and drive like it should.
I hope that made sense. I like to be very detailed in my descriptions and I tend to write alot that, while it may not seem relevant to others, seems relavent to me.
So far I have done all the fallowing:
Replaced Plugs/wires.
Replaced Distributor
replaced altanator
replaced fuel filter
During the swap we had to use the stock EX harness, and chop it up and add parts from the JDM B16a harness that I got with the motor. My last guess would be that it could be a wiring problem. I have also heard from several people that it could be my TPS sensor or my Map Sensor being all FUBARed.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I feel like i've become the proud owner of a Basterdized Honda car with DSM problems.
P.S. I am also running OBD1 P30 ECU with a conversion harness I got from JDMSh!t.com
Thanks in advance

EACV or fast idle valve? I am looking at a 92-95civic troublshooting guide.
I assume there is no CEL,?! When you turn the key to the "on" position, you should get CEL for a few seconds, then it should go out, and stay off even after starting the car. If you have a CEL , then "pull" the code and start from there.
You can download a honda manual for your car from here...
http://www.hondahookup.com/manuals/
and use the troublshooting guide
good luck, let us know!!!!!

so everytime i would crank the car and it started it would just die...we ended up makinga clean connection on the harness...
i hope this jumble makes sense....
