got a free cluster! but need help
so I got a free "indiglo reverse" gauge from my cousin. Yeah I know, why?!! Hey, it was free and it doesn't hurt to try something different. haha. I thought I would try it out, but I don't know how/where to wire the power(The red one). Do I splice it with a red wire from the cluster plugs? Or route it to the battery??? Anything would help, thanks!
straight install...
connect the black wire to the black wire at the dimmer.
connect the red wire to the red/black wire at the dimmer.
nifty install...
Connect the red wire from the gauges to the red/black wire of the dimmer plug
Connect the black wire of the gauges to the red wire of the dimmer
this will make it so the gauges dim with the normal lights.
I made this a while ago... http://www.b18c5eg.com/how2/dimming

"doesn't hurt to try something different"
Well ... it does hurt your wiring harness because you have to tap it .... and it has the chance of hurting your gauges by snapping your needles off (I've heard this like 3000 times), and by getting adhesive on your gauge faces.
But whatever floats your boat
