Question of the year right here....

Awesome title too.

The D16 can handle exactly 37 more whp than stock, 38 and it will explode. Its a proven fact. Unless the flux capacitor is added...then the sky is the limit.

150 safely, 269 if you add GM VTEC fluid. Just pour it into that little cylinder on the spool solenoid.

That's that answer I really just wanna give and just leave it at that .

Reality:
The stock internals are good for about 200 - 220 whp ASSUMING it was tuned by somebody who knew what they were doing.

They don't respond well to bolt-ons either so you'll probably want FI (turbo, nitrous, or supercharger). If you want to stay naturally aspired (all motor) then you're gonna sink so much money into it you're better off just buying a '80's Monte Carlo or other big block V8 that'll just make that HP all motor b/c that'll be cheaper than building an all motor D16Y8....no lie..

You'll need some form of forced induction if you want to top it out, anything over say...190hp as a safe zone (at the wheels) you'll want to reinforce the internals.

As for its current HP, its factory spec is 127hp at the flywheel which is probably around 90-110 at the wheels.

Feel free to PM me with anymore questions...

errr ur trial so you can't, but u could e-mail me or msg me on AIM (info in my profile).

PS: Y8's don't make good motors unless you boost them (turbo). That's mine and the opinion of many.

Guess that would be proper if I actually did criticize his intelligence.

I was honestly trying to help him out. And still am very willing to.

And please, if you have any answers about my "brain busting headlight problem" I'm all ears...or eyes as the case may be.

The way I see it either the rad support's fucked or the car never saw a frame machine. Either way I'ma take it to a body working specialist when I get some cash and see what he has to say...something's not ******* aligned right...but I'm starting to threadjack...

At oP:
Sorry

I did NOT see any major differences in the frame. I didn't take the headlights out prior to the accident so I wouldn't know if it was stable or not w/o the inside bolts.

I can get it to line up fine if I don't put the inside bolts in, but then it moves :-\.

I mean it looked fine, I didn't push on the headlights though :-\. If I did I would have noticed that something was wrong right off the bat.

You can't notice anything if the center bolt is in, you can feel the headlight instability if u push in on that corner though :-\.

Fuckx

Straight answer: If you wanna go stock bottom end and head about 200-220whp, anything else you better build it and sleeve it, but at the money you would spend you might wanna get a new motor. Although check this out https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1722429 and they didnt even have the flux capacitor in, or the blinker fluid.
