PSCA Drag Racing in the Southwest 2007
Somthing to consider for you southwest drag racers since there arent that many events out here any more here is a chance to run in a points series bracket or heads up - absolute blast either way
The Pacific Street Car Association offers some of the best drag
racing in the southwest - I ran this past season and ended up
in the top 10 in points had a balst and you get everything from
street cars to 200+ MPH outlaw turbo cars
These events are mainly a muscle car based event but they
are welcoming import cars to join them in 2007.
Go check out the schedule for next season most of the events
are between Vegas, Fontana and with one in Phoenix - there are
like 11 heads up classes and 3 different bracket style classes
and most events do not clash with current import drag events or
VW shows in the southwest (hell this past year I ran Dubwars one week,
went drag racing the next week in vegas for the PSCA event, and was
back in fontana the 3rd week for Battle of the Imports) - there are
contigency payouts, cash awards for class winners at each event -
each class also has a points series associated with it so at the end
of the year there is a class champion add in some of the best
organization I have ever seen in a drag race - alot better than
current NHRA import races
here is their website http://www.pscaracing.com they do encourage drivers
to become PSCA members by the second race they attend
(45 for first timers and the renual is like 30) - would really like
to see more import cars
if anyone has any questions email me truckracer666@hotmail.com or
post up on the psca chat forums

Just to let you guys know. The PSCA racers are welcoming us imports with open arms and are excited to see imports racing with them. They were very excited that Justin H was out there and won their event. I have been talking to a few guys on their message board and at the tracks and alot of them seem very excited and don't have the "Old REDNECK" mentality. Here is a link to the forum if you guys want some good reading about us IMPORTS racing with domestics.

There you guys go. I think in 2007 you will see alot more IMPORTS racing in these types of sanctions.
I know 2-3 OUTLAW/Modified cars that will be racing the 10.5 classes pretty heavy for next year.

Your exactly right. Even in 1 of the post they speak highly of NOPI and how they like the idea of the Domestics racing with Imports. They look at it the same way we do....MORE SPECTATOR,MORE SPONSORS,MORE MONEY and MORE CHICS!!!!!

Hope you guys caught the Speed Scene Live show tonight. All about how the PSCA is the place to race. Had footage of the race, an inerview with Justin, and he called in and talked for a while.
Check it out tomorrow on the archives section of http://www.speedsceneracing.com

Bracket 1 class or Open Comp Class would be the way to go.... here is the difference - in bracket 1 you make 3 practice runs and figure the dial in from there - this class does allow electronics (throttle stops, delay boxes ect ect) I ran this class with my 15 second street car last season and 8 of the top 10 cars didnt run electronics or a throttle stop of any kind - if you look at who won the bracket championship in 06 it was a 16 second Dodge Ram in 07 alot of the Bracket 1 cars ....this class also has 2nd round buybacks meaning if you go out in round 1 you can buy back into round 2 for an extra 20 bucks
Open Comp you make 3 qualifying passes and I cant find the rulling on this but the PSCA offocials either take your average ET's or your quickest ET and drop off 2 tenths and that is you dial in - gets really intresting around round 4 when track conditions change and you cant change you dial in - #1 qualifier is determined by the best reaction time....open comp class also has 2nd round buy backs like bracket one
There is also a 10.60 index class but you better be running right on 10.60....the qualifying for that class takes the first 16 cars closest cars to run a 10.60 and the entire field will start with #1 qualifier at 10.60000 and #16 qualifier will be at like a 10.65 ...notice the difference in times there makes for some awesome racing - also in this class if you go faster than a 10.60 you automatically lose .....HOW MANY 10.60 H-CARS ARE OUT THERE JUST WAITING FOR A CLASS LIKE THIS?
KEEP IN MIND all of these classes have a points championship, money payouts, contengency payout and you dont have screwball offocials like the NHRA sport compact events - trust me ive done both ....ask your self this how many sport comapct events have you gone to and tried to find out info from an offocial and gotten the "I dont know go ask this person" response or how many people have ran in vegas till 2 am because people like to blow and engine the drive all the way down the track and not stop so it take them 45 mintues to an hour to clean the track - you won't find that in the PSCA events - on top of that when was the last time you guys saw a 200+ MPH turboed V8 stuffed into say a 57 chevy .....see you guys in Feburary for round 1 Las Vegas Feb 16th-18th
