Hello myself and the 406 crew would like to invite you to Billings MT to attend the 1st ever Magic City Sport Compact Shootout at the Yellowstone Drag Strip. Event to take place on July 24, 2011 in Acton MT which has a state of the art 1/4 mile drag strip that was completed in 2003 . We will have a heads up forced induction class and a Bracket racing class.
There will be cash payouts and many prizes to be given away. Now I know you are asking man that is a long way to travel and we understand that. But read the payouts and prizes below then decide if this might be something worth traveling to. Might find that this will be a great event to attend and will be helping the sport compact drag racing sport grow a little more in the Northwest. I don't know about you but I know I would like to see some more events closer for me to travel to. I don't mind 10-12 hours but anything over that and its tough for me and my family to go to whether to race or spectate. So if your anything like me and have a chance to take home some cash and prizes you will load up the trailers and head this way. Not that its about the money or prizes for any of us its just a good excuse to justify the trip to the spouse!
Below is a break down of event

Sport compact Heads up class rules and payouts:

Entry fees for event are $45.00

Import or Domestic sport compact,72mm ind. turbo charger ,2100 lbs, Max tire size 26'', Lexan, gutted doors, 1 piece front ends etc permitted as long as can make the weight, Fwd full slicks permitted, RWD & AWD must run D.O.T. radials, 1 power adder only!

Payouts for forced induction heads up race:

1st; $1100 cash, Exospeed $300 gift cert, Darton sleeves $250.00 gift cert, AFI K series fuel rail
2nd; $500 cash, Darton sleeves $150 gift cert, AFI vacuum block
3rd; $200 cash
4th; $200 cash

Payouts for bracket class:

1st; $150 cash, $300 spec clutches gift certificate
2nd; $100 cash, $100 Speedfactory gift certificate
3rd; $50

Darton - 1st person to blow their motor at event will get a 150 gift cert from Darton sleeves rules apply to be elegible to win this!
DSS - best reaction time (heads up or bracket class)
Exospeed - $300 gift certificate for best 60ft in forced induction heads up class
Kaizenspeed - $100 gift certificate for fastest time in bracket class

Break down of sponsors contributions
Vibrant Performance
- Cash payout for Forced Induction heads up class winner

Exospeed wheel and composites sponsor
- $300 gift certificate winner of forced induction heads up class
- $300 gift certificate best 60ft in forced induction heads up class

DSS is the sponsor for best reaction time
- Stage 2.9 axles or drive line for best reaction time

Darton Sleeves
- $250 gift certificate for winner of forced induction heads up class
- $150 gift certificate for 2nd place of forced induction heads up class
- $150 gift certificate for 1st blown motor from the event (rules apply)

Spec Clutches
- $300 gift certificate for winner bracket class

AFI Turbo
- K series fuel rail to winner of forced induction heads up class
- vacuum block to 2nd place of forced induction heads up class

Kaizenspeed
- $100 gift certificate for fastest time in bracket class

Speedfactory racing
- $100 gift certificate for 2nd in bracket class

Sounds like it could be fun. Keep us posted on Detailed payouts. Its around a 7 hour drive for us Utah boys which isn't to bad of a drive if the payouts are there.

Well got the green light to do a heads up Sport Compact event. Only thing is has to be a 16 car field at min. So if anyone is interested please post it up so I can try to get a head count to know whether to pursue this venue.

As for entry fee we could do 40.00 with just sponsor payouts of 1st place 750.00 2nd 500.00 and 3rd 250.00

or we could do a 65-75.00 entry fee then track will take any money after 40.00 and put it in pot to use as payouts. Which would meand top 3 would get little more or we could do payouts on that pot for 4th 5th and 6th place? If your interested in coming sharing your thoughts on this please..

I know its a long drive and I am most likely reaching for the stars on this event but I am just wanna of those guys that has to try..

Alright just got off phone with track today and got the word that a 8 car min field for each class will work for July 24th Sport compact Race. So its on and official now. So I need whoever is up for attending ( racing) in this event to pm me your name, #, car, and which class you are going to race in. Just want to having a running head count, (have some ideas running thru my head for ones that commit early and are also from a distance away. more details as I iron them out..

Classes as of now are.

Fwd forced induction heads up class

Sport compact Bracket class

Look forward to hopefully seeing some out of staters here. Also on side note there is racing on Saturday the 23rd for any that want to come up early and get some test and tune runs in. And if I remember correctly track allows camping! I can look into that if people would like.

Hows the track prep? As good as bandimere, las Vegas etc.. If it's comparable then it might be worth the trip for us.

The track prep is amazing we are rediculously spoiled at this track... it is a clean rut free track and less then 10 years old... I really can't say enuf good about this track... the track manager worked at the indy drag track for 30 some years and he runs a very tight ship... We just got done with the spring clean up of the track where the public comes out and helps clean and weed and walk every inch of the track to check everything... I know last year they acually covered the track the whole winter... Don't know if they did it this winter dident have a chance to go up there...

Track prep is nowhere as good as bandimere or vegas, those are the best hooking tracks in the west. But it is the third best track that we have been on and way better than any ifo track that we have been on.

Lol what does IFO have to do with the track? IFO is a race series not a mobile track prep team. Also IFO has races at the top tracks in the US, including las Vegas motor speedway.
Anyway thanks for the info, maybe we'll make it up to the race.

Just got off phone with track manager and camping is allowed on the night of July 23, 2011, there is also a night race that night with gates opening at 5:00pm for those that want to either test their cars or just watch some racing!
