Repeated brake failure
Had problems with brakes about 3 months ago. Stopped at a light, car inched forward. Pushed down harder; car eventually inched forward. Kept repeating until brakes would barely keep car stopped when pushed down to the floor. Had entire ABS replaced. Now we are having the same problem, only it is intermittent. Doesn't happen every time. We had a thorough inspection. Mechanic couldn't replicate problem and couldn't find any problems. Had second inspection and bled brakes. Still nothing found and problem is still happening. Any ideas? We're at a loss.
don't know your model specs. however, if a mid 90's accord like mine it seems a failing master cylinder is likely culprit.
if you do search, there are many threads on this subject. even i have posted several.

yeah you probably spent a butload of money on something you didn't need to. The mechanic should have known that. Often when the brake sinks to the floor its the Brake master cylinder
I can almost guarantee it's the master or the booster. The problem is I could ask you numerous questions, and probably still not get clear enough diagnostic info to decide which is the culprit... and we would spend a lot of time trading info back/forth.
Get a manual. Even the Haines has step by step checks to diagnose if it's the master or the booster. It will walk you through 3-4 symptom checks for each part. It's pretty good- if you still end up dry, it's something the dealer probably will have to diagnose with high-end vacuum test eqpt, etc.
I have used both my Haines and Helms to diagnose brake problems in the past, with 100% success (had to replace both the master and booster, different times). And if you had the manual before, and had used it, and it ends up being the master or booster, you could have possibly saved $$$ for the work already "repaired" that may not even have been at fault.
