installing a sunroof on my coupe
Does anybody have an idea how much it would cost to add a sunroof to my ek? I had one on my Integra and I miss the view up on top. Also can someone explain to me whats the difference between a sunroof and a moonroof?
I think that a moonroof is exactly what you want and a sunroof is kinda like a t-top but without the middle part that makes it a t. kinda like the Supra in Fast and Firious.

No, that's a targa top. A sunroof is a body panel that retracts. A moonroof is just a glass sunroof. All moonroofs are sunroofs, but not all sunroofs are moonroofs.
And it's expensive, and really really REALLY not worth it. Take off all your mods, bring it back to stock, keep them, sell your car, and buy your exact car except with a moonroof (ie. ex or si trim). It'll cost less.

To repeat (since his post was quoted before he finished his edit):
Sunroof - Opening in the roof of a vehicle (can be fixed or able to slide/tilt).
Moonroof - A sunroof with a transperant panel.
Targa top - A removable roof section that stretches from one side of the vehicle to the other. Examples include del Sols and MKIV Supras.
T-Top - Similar to the targa top, but with a non-removable bar that seperates two panels instead of just the one. One panel on either side of the car. Examples include Camaros and Firebirds.
An aftermarket moonroof / sunroof will not look like a factory moonroof. Nor can you easily put a factory moonroof onto a car without one. Factory moonroof roof panels are designed so that the roof wraps in and the seal sits around the glass (and moves with the glass with the panel is opened). Aftermarket moonroof / sunroof panels have have the seal around the roof panel instead. The roof is cut and the seal is installed on the edge of the roof.

I know for 92-95 (should be the same for EK's as well), you can drill the spot welds out and take the whole roof panel out. So, in theory, the cheapest way would be for you to find a wrecked car like yours with a factory moonroof, get the roof panel w/ moonroof equipment and headliner, then remove yours and install the new one. This is, of course, providing that you can drill, wire, weld and or seal, and find a suitable donor.

I'm not sure that'd be the cheapest really. I mean, you're going to (likely) have to pay more for labor. I know this isn't something myself, or most people would be qualified to do.
On an aftermarket moonroof you're going to pay, what, around $500-700 (if I remember correctly from what I've heard). For replacement of a full roof panel... well, unless you get one from a friend there's a decent chance you're going to pay a bit for all of it plus labor to install.
Just trying to say there's a good chance it could end up similar in price.

It's only the cheapest if you can do the work yourself. It's also the best way to make it look factory.... because, well, it is factory.
If you do a search around, there's a thread on installing the glass roof in a CRX. The same theory applies to installing an OEM moonroof panel. In truth, if you don't have the skills or cash to do the job right, just get a car that already has one. That's about the only way you won't regret it.
