Default engine misfire....y8 swap

so, i swapped in a 00 y8 into my 96 dx hatch, well...it was running all good. Running obd2a p2p ecu, injectors, alt, ex dizzy. Those have all been switched out since the motor was obd2b. Well the queston is, is that it was working fine for about 2 weeks and now i just got a code 71 the other day, Engine misfire on cyl#1. I got new plugs, but still nothing, whats really weird is that it only comes on every once and a while, if i unplug the ecu and reset it, it goes away for a few days. When the check engine light is on, the car doesnt run any different, it still runs fine. It doesnt stall or spudder. I figured it would be the plugs, so i got new ones, and the ecu and dizzy are in good shape. Could it be the coil, the wires??? Any idea. BTW i've done plenty of swaps, but just cant really figure this one out

It's scary that guys like this have done plenty of swaps and still don't know how to diagnosis a misfire.

Check the resistance of the wire (no more than 7000 ohms per ft is the rule of thumb). It's not the coil, coil is related to all cylinders.

What did the spark plug look like when you pulled it? If it was white you are running lean and weak spark is not the culprit. Even if it was white you can still be running lean (even though if its not white, you can still be running lean enough to cause a minor mis-fire)

How so? How do you know that you only fixed it for a few days like you said usually happens when you reset the ecu. What did you do different that your sure it wont come back again.
