Default 98 Prelude 5 Speed Conversion

Need some help. This is my first conversion on a prelude. Does anyone know where to wire in the clutch switches? This would keep it from starting in the car I assume. Second, I'm not getting any fire when I bypass the ignition switch and try to start it with a power probe at the starter with the key on. Third, will the key have to be reprogramed to the 5 sped ecu because if the immobilizer? I just need to talk to someone who has done this conversion. Any help would be much appreciated.

You wire the clutch switch to the neutral safety switch pins in the old automatic transmission multifunction switch harness. The reverse light connections go there also. You can reprogram the keys to the manual ECU, or if you can solder, swap the daughter boards for the immobilizer between the two. You can also convert your auto ecu to manual, and this is what I recommend if your manual ECU is not the same model year as your car.

If you don't wire the clutch switch at all you will be fine....which I prefer...more of a pain than it is worth.....

But then the cruise control won't deactivate when the clutch is depressed. Why half-*** it when it is only four wires total?

The cruise control unit is different in the 4g prelude than in the 5g, I could never get mine to work quite right after converting to manual.

Note that the cruise control is deactivated by the lower clutch switch, the neutral safety switch is the upper one, they are separate and independent...

hi there! at first i want you to excuse my bad english cause i am from germany

I have done the auto to 5MT conversion myself in germany! i think you have to ground the cruise control in order to work.

Thanks for all your help. I figured out the clutch switch. wired it into the starter relay. Have another question if you don't mind. Is a P5M ecu a obd1 jdm ecu?? The reason I ask is because i also replaced the engine with the jdm version and the ecu that came with it starts the car but with a code 4 ( CKP sensor). I think its a obd1 ecu because a obd2 scanned won't read it.

Let me rephrase that. When I hooked a jumper wire to get the code by reading the blinks from the cel, it gives a code 4. I looked on alldata for a obd1 prelude and i could have sworn it said it was a crank sensor code
