What is seafoam?
Seafoam comes in an aluminum, usually white can, it ranges from about 4 to 6 dollars a can depending on where you live, usually 5.50, give or take a few cents. It's designed to clean out engines by using it as an additive to usually one of 3 things: Your PCV/Brake booster line, Crankcase oil, or gas tank. Some claim that it works wonders, some say no, and some are scared to use it. I personally have used it in my Subaru and can vouch it does help, although all I ever did was use it through the PCV valve. When used through that line, it evenly distributes to each cylinder and will "burn off" carbon deposits on the valves and piston heads. Putting it in the crankcase will thin the oil and get rid of sludge and grime which is why you want to change oil within a few miles of adding it to oil. Finally, adding it to the gas will clean your lines/filter/injectors to provide a clean flow for fuel. For more information please visit the search button and type in H-T keyword "Seafoam".
it takes away all the carbon build up, and cleans your engine pretty much. yes, for me and my brother it worked amazing, better gas mileage, and our cars drive a lot stronger. It costed us 6.99 a can at NAPA. we used 1 can per car; 1/3 can in brake booster line, 1/3 in crankcase, and 1/3 in gas tank.
ALSO TRY SEARCHING!! press search, then type in what, then press acheived, then what category. and you'll get a lot of info.

The way it's hard on them is one of two ways, 1)Putting too much in at once and over-pressurizing the valves 2)If carbon buildup has already gotton the best of your engine, and now the seals are basically the carbon itself, when the seafoam eats the carbon away, your valves will be seal-less
i bought a can about a month ago and im scared to use it because i have a d16y7 with about 130000 miles on it should i use it or not or what will be the safest way threw the intake manifold or threw the gas tank or crank case
and if i put it in the gas tank do i have to change the oil

You should change oil after seafoaming anyways
Add it VERY slowly.
I put it in a plastic cup and very slowly added about 2/3s a bottle down the brake booster line and the other 1/3 into the crank case.
Drove about 50 miles and changed my oil.
Idle is nicer but that was about it.

I used it. 215,000 on my old D16A6. I have used it on numerous cars with no ill effects for purposes of passing emissions tests.
I don't use it in the oil, just the IM and gas tank. I use it through a small vacuum line instead of the booster.
It says right on it ok for O2 sensors and cats.
The higher mileage motors are the ones with the carbon build-up, that is what it is suppose to be used for.

i was going to search but now that are we already on the subject. when would u guys reccomend using it and seeing affects??(76,000mi on my car) and if i only put it in my gas tank do u think i should put only like 1/2 tops??? thanks if i dont get flamed.
Seafoam
have used it in numerous cars and usually always see some kind of positive effect. Used it a month ago in a friends EF and I wish you could have heard the before and after idle on this car. I've never been a fan on putting it in the oil, I usually just put over half in the gas tank and the rest through the Intake Mani via the brake booster line.
