Default 04 tranny 2nd gear grind and motor mount question

Hi All,
I just purchased an 04 black s2000 with 17K miles on it.

When shifting to 2nd gear from 1st, is it normal for it to feel notchy and I an almost hear a grinding noise? I'm guessing its not normal, but is there any ideas whats causing it? Also it only happens in 2nd gear and usually at lower rpms ( like under 3 ).
Ocassionally it'll shift smoothly into 2nd. Downshifting into 2nd is always ok, smooth as butter.

Also when I turn off the engine, is it normal for the car to rattle/shake hard? I thought it may be the motor mount, but it only has 17K miles on it.

I had an ITR before and never notice any quirks like I having with the s2000. Thanks for the info and I'm loving my new s2000. Should of bought it a long time ago!!

1-2 shift may be notchy at first; synthetic tranny fluid solved my problem. Try Honda's new MTF, Redline, Royal Purple, or AMSOIL.
