Default 00 civic si y8 tranny weirdness

i can switch gears without using my clutch, if i pull on the shifter to the next gear give it gas let the rpms get to 3,000rpm then soon as it starts to drop it will slip in, i can do it every gear except 3rd cuzz i got a 3rd gear grind. This normal it never used to do it?

Dude you can pull any stick out of gear without the cluch, its a safety thing. And its called rpm matching the gears, you can do that with most cars if you do it right.

they call it speed shifting. At the right rpm u can shift through any gear. It will pop out too w/o the clutch like he said.

Perfectly normal.. Can be done with all stick shift cars.. I have a class A license and the only gear we use the clutch for is 1st or 2nd depending on how big a load you are carrying.. It does wear on your synchros though...
