'90 DA Idle Problem: HELP
hey wats up its the sensor connected to the throttle body. you can disconnect it but u will have to let it warm up in the morning so idle will settle. but if u want to replace. It costs 450 from acura because it only comes together w/ throttle body
get a can of carb cleaner and spray the vaccuum hoses in small increments....if the idle kicks up then that is where the vaccuum leak is....my theory tho, if this doesn't turn anything up, is also the IACV
it could be a few things. throttle position sensor, map sensor, or a vacum leak. it shouldnt be plugs or wires. maybe dizzy but unlikely. go to a junk yard and steal a bunch of tps and map sensors. thats what i did and it fixed it. it was my map sensor but i wasnt flashing a code but that fixed it.

That sensor on the TB is a Throttle Position sensor (TPS) I have the same problem with my 2000 DC2, I called password JDM and got them to send me a used TPS, i ground off the rivits on the OE TPS, and replaced it with allen screws.
Turns out my problem was with the IACV (idle air control valve) but if you buy one, get a OE from Acura, i bought one from autozone.. and it was bad when i got it ($190 wasted)
