2002 Accord EX (4 Cyl) -- Oil Filter
Hi everyone,
New to this forum but not forums in general.
I did many searches but couldn't find my specific information.
I have a 2002 Accord EX (4Cyl). This is a Canadian model...
I heard and read that the OE Oil Filters are now made by Fram. I would like to switch Toyo Roki (15400-PLC-004) filter from now on.
My question is: Will the Toyo Roki filter fit?
Also, how do I tell what "series" my engine is?
And is there a list on the net that shows Toyo Roki's S2K filter compatibility with Honda engine series?
Regards!

Yes, the S2000 filter fits. Many people on this forum have been using them on a regular basis, so you'll be fine. There's not a list that I'm aware of... Most Hondas can use the same filter. The only ones that can't are 85 and older Hondas (different size filter) and some of the newer Hondas, although I don't know which. In other words, any B-, C-, D-, F-, H-, or J-series engines can use the same filter. I don't know about K-series or even about the newest versions of the J-series engines.
You have an F23, although which variant of the F23 will depend on your car's trim level. You can look on the front of the engine block itself for the stamp... It should read F23A1, F23A4, etc. I believe for 98+ Accords, the trim levels and engines for Canadian cars were the same as the American versions. If that's right, than you have the F23A1, unless yours happen to be the ULEV motor, which would be the F23A4.
