HELP,part # needed for oil filter.....
Bought a filter from honda today for the 02...Well,im getting ready to take off the old one,when i noticed its NOTHING like the ones that were on the b series motors(which is what honda gave me today)Anyone have a part number for the 02 Si oli filter? the one i recieved is 15400-pt7-005,and i KNOW its the same filter i used on my old 00.......

so i am taking it that it will not work....Its a LOT narrower than the new filter i have,even though it DOES say all filters for late model 88+ fuel injected cars use the same one....hmmmmmmmmm

Think i got it....Fram filter from the RSX,#7317.Checker had a ton of em there.......I would still appreaciate the stock part # though,as thats the filter i plan on running after removing the Fram i bought.

Heres the deal...
The new filters are designed for the newer engines that are supposed to be serviced at longer intervals. I checked with a couple of the techs at work and they said either will work on your newer vehicle.
The part number for the old one, 15400-P0H-305
The part number for the newer skinny filter is 15400-PLM-A01
Your dealer should be stocking both, but if you compare the two you will see the
o-ring is the same diameter and the threads are indentical.
A word about fram, when they come in off another car the crush like a beer can in the filter crusher. remember there is a one way check valve(pat.) in a honda filter.
