steel braided or high temp hose?
i got a high temp black rubber fuel hose from auto zone and i was wondering if this will hold up good enough for the line from the turbo to the oil pan or am i def supposed to use a steel braided since its right next to the downpipe..if so is there any kind of heat resistant tape that i can wrap around it like the shiny crome tape people use for duct work or anything like that?? or am i just gona have to find a steel braided line,,if so where do you guys get these? thanks
Why would you use a barb after an AN fitting? I'm 99% sure that alum adapter has 1/2" NPT threads, in which case you could have used a male npt to barb fitting to go right from turbo to hose.
I'd really suggest SS lines, since you can usually find them at speed shops in small lengths for not very much. Unlike most cheap hoses, SS lines are usually rated for oil and high temps. You also reflect a bunch of the turbo's heat away from the oil & rubber inside.

see the crome outlet on the turbo...then the blue an fitting...then you go to a male female barbed fitting....what he was saying is you could elimnate the blue fittin all together...and get a male barbed fitting to go straight into the crome fittin on the turbo....more than likely the fittin you bought isnt going to seal well against the an fiting and cause slight leaks....so youd be better off removing the blue and finding a fittin to match right into the crome piece...
