For the horn, check the fuse box under the hood. It is a 20amp (yellow) on the right side /bottom.

I think you must take the car to a dealer to have them look at the srs. I could be wrong but all the units such as the horn and ignition plug into a round hub (don't know what its called). The reason I say that is because I replaced the ignition on my car today and all those parts had a wire harness that plugged into that hub.

I would say at least check your fuse for the horn to be sure its not that unit. But you really need to go to a dealer and have then look at the srs. It could be dangerous to look at it on your own.

to see why your light is on the dealer will probably charge you for normal diag. times.. and prices.. which i know dealers around here in cali are about 95 an hour.. and normally thats all it takes... but i dont know if all you want is the light off..... i mean being the SRS system.. i would take it in asap.. i mean never know if it could deploy at any time lol

I guess that's what it's called. It's a ring that goes behind the steering wheel, and allows the wheel to turn without ripping/twisting the wires. Basically, everything that's on the steering wheel will be connected through the ring, so that would include the horn switch(es) and the airbag.

To answer your question, a bad ring will not make contact, causing the horn to not work, and also causing the SRS computer to not detect the presence of the airbag. That will set off the SRS light.

You can find this part at a junk yard. I encountered that ring thing while I was replacing the ignition on my car. You will have to remove the ignition to get to it also. This will take about 2-3 hours if you don't work on cars for a living.

BTW, the other advantage to purchasing from a junk yard is that you get to see them remove it. I have fixed several things from this technique

I would just bring it to the shop and have them mess with it. SRS is serious stuff, if you accidentally blow your bag then you'll be out some serious dough!
