all motor or FI???? if FI, do the B18Beast but if all motor, to the Pee16.

 

everyone loves VTEC get the B16

 

but the b16 has 111 lb of tq with 160 hp
b18b has less hp but more torque
i need more understanding about hp and torque
is too much or too less of each is good or bad?

and to add
what are the pros and cons of having vtec

B18B has 127 pounds of torque, 142 horses......... slap a turbo or supercharger on that bad boy and watch out! Oh did I just give my plans away??

 

If you love revving and shifting often, B16.

If you like the low end oomph (as far as a Honda goes), B18.

 

Depends on what you want to end up with in the end. if you want to stay n/a I'd go with the b18b

 

supercharging a b18b is weak

 

dont go NA w b18b u wont get anywehre unelss u use a vtec head (ls vtec)....b18b is good for boost (turbo)...b16 is good for NA.

 

LSVTEC? CRVTEC?
or save up alot more and drop a B18C5 (type r) engine in there.
if you go LS or LSVTEC OR CRVTEC...
at least get a GSR tranny...

if you are going to use it in stock form you would probably be happier witht he b18b due to its torque. If you are planning on building it then the B16 is the way to go. F/I on either engine, stock, and it's a toss up. Most would say go B18B b/c of compression ratio... you can safely run more boost since it's lower, but.... the ability to do some internals on the b16 and you could have 9:1 or 9.5:1 je pistons with some nice turbo cams and have a streetable monster when you hit VTEC. My car screams when VTEC engages @ 5,800 RPM's.

save up some more and get a B18C. thats a no compromise situation
