What engine harness do i need? HELP!!!!!
For some reason I cant log in on my other name but thats neither here nor there. I have a 97 ek with a 00 ctr motor and i need to get an engine harness for it because my other one was lost by the shop working on my car. I have no idea what harness i need so ill provide a list of whats in the car and hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction. Also if anyone has said harness for sale please pm me and let me know.
97 ek
00 ctr motor
obd2 ecu with obd2-1 jumper harness
if you need any other info lemme know and ill get it for you.

I forgot to mention that the car is boosted and i am running a hondata. doesnt that mean that the ecu has to be obd1? im so lost with this crap and it shouldnt have happened in the first place but im stuck. thanks for the help so far

you cannot use an integra harness in a 96+ civic, nor can you use a OBD2B harness in an OBD2A car, and OBD2B integra is 00-01 ,you suck
you need an OBD2A engine harness from a 96-98 civic EX

what are you retarded? lol. theres really not alot of difference between a civic and teg as far as engine wiring goes. but obd2a is alot less ugly ecu map than obd2b , thats for sure. i suppose an obd2a harness would be easier to work with. but if his ecu is obd2b , and his jumper harness is for obd2b to obd1 , than if you advise him to get an obd2a harness , his jumper harness will be no good to him , the way it is anyhow.

I see this question all the time and I feel like it should be a sticky if it's not already...
GET THE HARNESS THAT MATCHES YOUR VEHICLE... a 96-98 Ex harness will be perfect. It's the closest thing that needs the least amount of modification (in terms of lengthening wires to reach sensors) and sometimes no modification at all.
If you have an ECU that does not match the OBD of the vehicle (OBD2b, OBD2a, OBD1, OBD0) then STILL USE THE HARNESS THAT MATCHES THE VEHICLE. Then get a conversion harness to use whichever ECU you'd like.
If you're running Hondata, your ECU is OBD1... so you'll need to get that OBD2A->OBD1 conversion harness to make things easier.

are you retarded? the 96 and up civics harness run all the way into the car and plugs i9n the ecu. integra harness plugs up to the shock towers only. if you dont know the answer than dont give one. fckin noobs tryin to post.
but to answer your question use the 96-98 ex harness, it should work fine cause it has the vtec wiring on it already. you can use the 99-00 civic harness but then you need a different jumper harness

i really want this to be a sticky we see this question WAY to much.

theres nothing wrong in my post there at all thanks , definitely not a noob , although make mistakes as everyone else. the reason i said are you retarded to him is he said a 99 was an obd2a setup , which it isnt. PS where does it go from the shock tower? through a round barrel plug into more wires maybe? lol. jesus man. relax.
if he uses obd2a harness , and his jumper is obd2b to obd1 , than his jumper will be no good to him. he never specified what jumper he has even yet. nothing i said is wrong dude.

Just for thoroughness, I'd like to add that a 99 could be an OBD2a swap... I don't believe the japanese domestic market ever had a concept of OBD2a or OBD2b. JDM OBD2 = USDM OBD2a

This is right!!! You cannot use a 99-00 civic harness!!! The plugs are different. 96-98 Civic Ex harness will make you smile
