jg luder....
hey man im new to this forum as you can tell.. i saw your auction for the cams on ebay.... which has nothing to do with my question... i need some info on boring a h22a1... noone in my area wants to do this due to the frm cylinders...im willing to drive to AL. to get this work done.... are je pistons worth the money.... or are the honda slugs just as good for a n/a application?
My personal opinion is that forged is the ultimate way to go. Then again, so is a standalone ECU...
If money isn't really an object, or you just plan on abusing your car, the forged pistons are the way to go. JE, Arias etc.
THe reason no one will bore out the FRM is because it'll end up causing trouble later on. The only true way to put forged pistons in is have them resleeved. Jeff from Import Builder.com swears that he can hone PAST the FRM and not have troubles, and I believe him when he says that he hasn't seen any problems, I just don't trust my luck with it.
If you're staying N/A, and don't want to sleeve it, then get a set of Type S pistons. If you're going turbo, or N2O, then you'll want forged...
Like I said in another post, forged are much stronger, and lighter. It's a win/win situation.
