changed timing belt, now car wont start.
I put everything back together last night, went to get coolant this morning and filled it up. When I went to start it, she turned over but didn't fire up. What can be some possible causes?

I remember that thread.
First, check all the TDC timing marks to make sure everything is at TDC. Cam gears, oil pump, crank pulley.
Then it's just a matter of checking 1) spark, 2) fuel, 3) compression.

i quadruple checked tdc on everything before - i set the crank to tdc using the flywheel mark, i guess I have to take everything apart again to see how all the other gears line up.
Dont set the crank to TDC by looking at the flywheel line. Set it by aligning the pointer on the crank gear to the oil pump, its a much better accurate way. All thought the flywheel line shows TDC its purpose really is to check ignition timming with a timming light. Take off the timming covers and get to work.

Werd, exactly what I was going to say.

So I pulled everything apart today, and from the looks of it everything was where I left it. The crank and flywheel marks were at TDC, as were the cam gears. The only thing that seemed slightly off was the front balance shaft:

I thought it was off a tooth, so when i moved it over a tooth to the left, it was offeven more than before, so I just put it back to where it was.
We also did a compression test on cylinders 1 & 2 and both showed nothing! The first thing that comes to mind is bent valves - however the timing belt never stapped, nor did timing get thrown off - is there any other way to tell if I have bent valves other than a leakdown test?

have you set the valve lash yet? its possible you could have bent the valves turning the motor over without the belt on.
