the h22 has more tq, it costs 3000$ less, you can use stock mounts, which means direct drop-in, no modification, and i dunno how many times i've wiped the RSX Type-s with my accord.

On top of that, my accord has stock suspension, all season tires with 15% tread, stock intake, accord stock 1 1/4 exhaust, and no weight reduction of any type. and i have raced 5 different type s' and beat them each time....

so if you have about 7000-10000 dollars, and you have time, do the K24 (goodluck with the wiring)

if you have some money, and you wanna get bang for buck, and you wanna have it done in a timely manner, get the h22, its cheap, its a great motor, it will fit like stock, and won't break your wallet.

Cheers

yeah until the k gets more popular, your better off with the h22. get a jdm one though. the h22 is a older platform but its still no push over. i am very happy with my swap. but as always, with money and time you can do anything. its up to your really. build a h22 and it can be just as good as the k. your car's characteristics has its role as well.

the H22 does NOT make more torque than a K24.

The K24 makes more torque at a lower RPM than the H22;

H22;
Horsepower: 200 hp
Max Horsepower: 7000 rpm
Torque: 156 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 5250 rpm

K24A2;
Horsepower: 205 hp
Max Horsepower: 7000 rpm
Torque: 164 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 4500 rpm

ummm.... Isn't this kind of a moot discusion? My understanding was that the swap mounts aren't even in production yet, much less axles and such.

To OP, here are some threads about this...

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1803604
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1786068

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1763451
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1750562

Sadly, there are waaaaaay more than that.

Put "k20 OR k24" in the search field, put Accord in the forum slot, and choose archived content. Search FTW

Seriously. For such a low traffic forum, there is one of these H22 v K2x threads every week or so. Absolutely mindboggling since there is a total of one K-5th gen in existance, and the people that made it (HASport), pretty well left the idea for dead.

<===Wants to make a virus so that peoples computers explode when they post about k-swaps or F20C swaps

Yeah its not very practical, unless you have money, time, and want something unusual. The H22 is more practical and cheaper. Id go the H route. But thats just me, maybe you have money to burn, lol. I sure dont.

The k24a2 TSX is the only decent one. Its rare and expensive. The more common k24a4, and a8 puts out an anemic 160 hp. A tech in our shop has a k24a4 in a hatch. Its a dog. Poor dude spent close to 8 grand on his swap and he gets beat by GSR swaps.

Take it from me, I went through various stages of h22 to a k24 in my 90 accord...

For simplicity, the H22 is a drop in. Power is very good but the gearing of the vtec transmissions sucks. Add a final drive and these things really take off. Forget the factory LSD M2B4 trans because they cannot be modified at the current time. A stock M2a4 with a 5.15 or a 4.64 final drive will make you very happy. As far as engine modifications... the H has tons of support like the K, but the K seems to respond better when it is modified, simply because the head flows better than the stock H. Get the H head ported by a reputable source, some good cams, and header then you will be on par with a stock k24 TSX engine. This will still be cheaper than the K swap itself. However, once you do the same mods to the K, the K will out perform the H. Only until you get into the bottom end of the H will it give a similiarly built K a run for the money. Both will get expensive.

In the long run, the K will offer more potential, but it's gonna cost you quite a bit to get the foundation set.

Get a T2T4 LSD trans with your H22 engine with other mods to wake up the H; you'll be happy. Right now I eat Mazdaspeed Protege, RSX Type S(I/H/E), & GSR/B16(I/H/E) hatch all day; except, the Type R swap hatches.

In my opinion, the T2T4 is a little longer than the M2A4. The LSD from the T2T4 is killer, so combine that trans with the 4.64 or a 5.15 Mfactory final drive then it will be very nice.

I personally run a much shorter set-ups in 2 of my T2W4 Euro R transmissions with a 4.71 Circuitworx final drive or a 4.64 Mfactory final drive and they RIP!
