My thoughts about my recently installed JDM final drive, toda flywheel, and exedy clutch
Well I finally got this stuff in and on the car. I was pretty happy to get it done my first impresions about the mods are good I would suggest this to anyone who is looking for a smoother car. After driving the car for three days now I havent really got to beat on it but I have got on it a couple of times and the cars feels quicker, smoother and more responsive. Just thought I would give you guys my two cents.
Thanks for the review!! I might be doing something like this too.. Although I am alos considering the ATS Final Drive.

ive seen lots of posts on this subject and both have excellent reviews. for me though ive seen someone post MPH vs RPMs. for a motor with bolt ons id say go with the ATS but for the serious guys that have built NA motors go with the JDM FD. the ATS tops out of fourth at 107 @8600 in an ITR tranny which is too slow for some NA cars. the JDM FD tops out at 110 @8600 at 110 which is right about where most built B20 setups net ya. depending on traction that could b a mid 12 second pass. ill go with the JDM FD.

The 'Trap Speed' measures your average speed over the last 200 feet. So your actually going much faster than that. With either Final Drive, you will necessitate a 5th Gear Shift, Depending on your Slick Choice...22" with the 4.785 might keep you in 4th Gear...Someone do the calculations for me

No, I made everything up...hah Ofcourse it's true...
That's why a G-tech pro for example...is dead-on ET< but off MPH...because it measures true mph, and not the average over last 200feet.

.....don't forget that many of us raise our rev limiters to compensate for any "downside" from the ATS' slightly higher revving.

Someone do these calculations...
9000rpm Redline
B16a or ITR Tranny
ATS FD and JDM FD
22" Slicks
Whats the max speed in 4th Gear? Would is necessitate a 5th Gear shift with the 4.785? the 4.929?

Nice! I have the same set up except i have an ACT clutch instead of an exedy. Revs a lot faster and pulls harder throughout the gears.
Assuming a 22" slick is the true diameter(I've never calculated for slicks before).
The top speed in fourth @ 9000 RPMs would be:
111.219 MPH for the JDM FD'd tranny
and
107.969 MPH for the ATS'd tranny
